What kind of psychologist are you?

I'm a psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA), with a completed Master of Clinical Psychology - Advanced Entry (MCPA), and working within the Clinical Registrar program under board-approved supervision. All practice meets AHPRA's professional standards and the Psychology Board of Australia Code of Conduct.

Who do you see?

Adults (18+) across Australia via telehealth, from a range of cultural backgrounds. Common areas of focus include anxiety and mood disorders, chronic depression, complex trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, and life transitions.

Question 3

Do I need a referral to book?

No — you can book privately without a referral. If you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate after paying the session fee.

Question 4

How do I get a Mental Health Treatment Plan?

Book a longer appointment with your GP and let them know you'd like to discuss your mental health. If appropriate, they can prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan and refer you to a psychologist. The plan may allow you to claim a Medicare rebate for a number of sessions each calendar year.

How much do sessions cost?

Private sessions are $200 AUD for a 50-minute consultation, payable on the day. A very small number of low-fee and pro bono places are also offered case by case. See the Fees page for full details.

Can I use private health insurance?

If your extras cover includes psychology, you may be able to claim a rebate — check with your insurer for the amount. Please note you cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health fund rebate for the same session.

How does telehealth work?

Sessions are held over a secure, encrypted video link from a private space of your choice. You'll need a reliable internet connection and a quiet, confidential room. Before your first session I'll send joining instructions and a short tech-check guide. A phone option is available if video isn't suitable.

What can I expect in the first session?

We start with what's brought you to therapy now, what you'd like to be different, and a little relevant background. Together we'll set some goals and outline an approach. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.

Is what I share confidential?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your privacy is protected under the Privacy Act 1988 (Australian Privacy Principles) and the Psychology Board of Australia Code of Conduct. Information is only disclosed with your consent, except in limited situations required by law — for example, where there is a serious and imminent risk to your safety or someone else's, a court subpoena, or mandatory reporting obligations. These limits are explained in the consent form.

How are my records and personal information stored?

Records are stored securely with encryption and access controls, and clinical notes are kept in a dedicated clinical record system that meets AHPRA requirements. You can read the full details, including how telehealth data is handled, on the Privacy policy page.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee, as these times are reserved for you. Full details are provided when you book.
