EMDR & trauma therapy, online across Australia

Safe, paced, evidence-based support for PTSD and complex trauma — via secure telehealth, wherever you are in Australia.

Trauma can leave the past feeling present — memories that intrude, a body that stays on alert, and patterns that are hard to shift no matter how much you understand them. You don't have to carry that alone, and you don't have to relive it all to heal.
I'm a psychologist and a member of the EMDR Association of Australia, and I work with trauma using EMDR alongside other evidence-based approaches — always at a pace that feels safe for you.

What this can help with

  • Post-traumatic stress (PTSD)
  • Complex and childhood trauma
  • Distressing memories that intrude or feel 'stuck'
  • Hypervigilance, flashbacks or nightmares
  • Trauma underlying anxiety or low mood
  • Feeling unsafe or easily overwhelmed

How EMDR works

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less overwhelming and intrusive. Rather than analysing the memory endlessly, EMDR supports your mind's natural ability to heal — much as the body heals a physical wound once the obstacles are removed.
We always begin with safety and stabilisation: understanding your history, building grounding skills, and making sure you feel resourced before any processing. You stay in the driver's seat throughout.

Trauma-informed telehealth. Sessions run over a secure, encrypted video link from a private space of your choice. For EMDR online, we set things up carefully together — a quiet room, a stable connection, and a clear plan for grounding if anything feels like too much.

Frequently asked questions

What is EMDR therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their charge. It's one of the most researched approaches for trauma and PTSD.

Does EMDR work over telehealth?

For some clients, EMDR may be suitable to deliver online when there's a private, safe space and careful structure. We build in grounding and stabilisation, and only move at a pace that feels manageable for you.

Is trauma therapy going to make me relive everything?

No — good trauma therapy is paced and collaborative. We focus on safety and stabilisation first, and you stay in control of what we work on and how fast we go.

Can I claim Medicare for trauma therapy?

With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate on each session. See the fees page for details.
